Web-to-print and web-to-publish system - metiTec of me-ti GmbH

metiTec is a typesetting system for dynamic layout. metiTec supports cross media and media specific publications without media disruption from various sources at the push of a button.
The system arranges text and picture elements by intelligent layout rules specified by a media designer. The application of the rules is controlled by measuring results of the metiTec typesetting engine.
Source documents (such as Word documents) are automatically transformed into the XML required for the typesetting system. The technology of today's DTP or database publishing software (such as QuarkXPress, InDesign, FrameMaker or others) can be completely replaced with metiTec or supplemented by metiTec components.
The typesetting system can be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of data storage systems. The system is used to produce publications with complex layouts, such as medical journals, legal documents, technical documentation, collections, publisher previews, catalogues and directories.

Modules

metiTec typesetting engine

feeds data into pages and carries out required measurements and design corrections according to layout rules.

metiTec layout engine

controls implementation of layout specifications using layout and typesetting rules. Uses defined data sources for design areas or source documents for publications.

metiTec architect

graphic working environment which supports authoring and database publishing. Used to design and test layout, typesetting rules and (visual) interaction. Controls typesetting, checks and corrects content and typesetting results.

metiTec catalogframework

automated typesetting of industrial catalogues and technical documentation.

metiTec framework for product information management

relational operational information system for acquisition, administration and processing of catalogue data, particularly for collective catalogues. metiTec architect is used to generate catalogues from this data.
