Term commonly used in the print and media industry for printouts on proofing systems that are output for checking before the production run.

Digital proof systems are color printers that usually work on the basis of color laser or inkjet technoloy. The proof should come as close as possible to the subsequent printing result. Digital proof can also mean digital preview files that are viewed on the monitor.
