Euroscale

Widely used term for the color sets of four-color printing CMYK. Oriented on the former, no longer valid Europe scale (DIN 16539). The Europe scale defined colour values only for a special test paper and is therefore no longer a current term.

New DIN ISO standard

Instead, the following standards are relevant: DIN ISO 2846 describes the colour and transparency of process inks for four-colour printing, which includes the European scale, the American SWOP and Japan 90.

Normative content

In DIN ISO 12647 process control for the production of screen colour separations for different printing processes, the printable colour values, ink layer thicknesses, screen values, dot gain etc. are defined. The SWOP standard has also been integrated here. Both standards are available in several parts for different printing processes.
