Vector data

Graphics and fonts can be saved as vector data. The coding of the data does not consist of individual pixels (see also bitmap), but of mathematically defined curves.

Characteristics

Vector data are independent of the resolution and are scaled without quality losses. In individual cases, it may make sense to convert fonts into vector graphics, e.g. if fonts cannot be delivered or embedded with the print document for licensing reasons.
